The "intuitive Portrait" Project

Intuitive portraits begin with a brief guided meditation and intend to capture the personality of the subject beyond physical appearance.

"Eva"

Eva and I spoke about technical programs such as the adobe suites and autocad, among other things. It just so happened that as we were sitting, one of the co-founders of the production company I worked for using said programs joined us to say Hello.

"Elia"

Elia spoke about his young Son and his passion for sports.

"Dagen"

Dagen and I spoke about the clown as a mysterious entity reflective of some unidentified aspect of the collective human psyche. He hosts Art Jam events and participates in a performance troupe in Rosendale.

"Cira"

Cira, as I was getting ready to paint her, looked up at her brother to listen to him speak. I could see the deep familial love shining in her eyes. At some point during the process, she said that her Mom was an art teacher and she was feeling inspired to go home and paint. Now that, folks, is what it's all about.

"Seleina"

Seleina is an aesthetician pursuing her massage therapy license. She discovered Teran Studio via graffiti and fine artist FaceofMarky. As I was going to dip my brush in water, a single black drop landed in the circle of her left cheek. Seleina said "It was meant to be".

"Princess Wow"

"Noah"

"Gina"

"Lauren & Jamie"

"Tiffany"

Tiffany shared with me her struggle of working for a large gallery in Denver, and while she was wildly successful, toward the end it didn't feel authentic. We also shared a sentiment on how, at times, it can be more awkward to work for a friend than it is to work for a stranger, whether painting or doing massage.

"Marianne"

"Keri"

"Reeya"

"Pam"

"Melissa"

Melissa and I shared a conversation about each of our experiences having profound encounters with humming birds.

"Brain"

"Elizabeth"

"Ariel & Micah"

"Jamie Sanin"

"Hayley"

Hayley was kind enough to sit for my first portrait of the evening. She spoke to me about her experiences as a nurse, and her experience of being what I would call Queen to local art scene King, Will Teran. Hayley, you are a beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit. We all thank you as you support Will to see his passions come to fruition
